Paint Work for Restoration Projects

Paint work at Restoration Sector is performed as part of automotive restoration, not as a standalone cosmetic service. Our paint process is designed to follow proper metal repair and body work so the finished result reflects the condition and integrity of the vehicle underneath.

This service is appropriate for classic and vintage vehicles undergoing restoration, not insurance repairs or quick paint jobs.

How We Approach Restoration Paint

Paint is the final step in a restoration—not the starting point.

Before any paint is applied, the body is fully evaluated to ensure:

  • Rust has been properly removed and repaired

  • Metal work and body work are complete

  • Panels are correctly aligned and structurally sound

Surface preparation is performed carefully, with attention to panel condition, seams, and transitions. Paint is applied only once the underlying work meets restoration standards.

Preparation Matters

The longevity and appearance of paint depend entirely on preparation. We do not apply paint over unresolved rust, poor repairs, or compromised metal.

Our approach emphasizes:

  • Proper preparation over speed

  • Correct sequencing after metal and body work

  • Long-term durability rather than cosmetic shortcuts

Paint is intended to protect and finish the restoration—not hide issues beneath it.

Restoration-Level Finish

Paint work is completed to complement the restoration as a whole. The goal is a finish that is consistent, durable, and appropriate for the vehicle—not a rushed or temporary result.

Final outcomes depend on vehicle condition, scope of restoration, and preparation requirements.

Documented Process

Paint work is documented as part of the overall restoration process, with before, during, and after photographs provided where appropriate. Customers are kept informed as work progresses so expectations remain clear.

Vehicles We Commonly Paint

Paint work is performed on a range of classic vehicles, with particular experience in:

  • Toyota Land Cruisers (60 Series, 80 Series, HJ75, FJ55)

  • Volkswagen Beetles

  • Other classic and vintage vehicles undergoing restoration
